Originality, authenticity, and honesty. That’s what FF Mister K means to the Finnish type designer Julia Sysmäläinen.

FF Mister K is a typeface inspired by manuscripts of Austro-Hungarian writer Franz Kafka and named after main characters of the novels “Das Schloß” and “Der Prozeß.” Kafka’s manuscripts reveal a unique handwriting style with strong calligraphic features.

According to Julia, FF Mister K is not pretty, or beautiful in the classic sense but it is full of personality. The font will work well in branding projects for music and arts events, organic food packaging and many more that require a bohemian, writerly flair. FF Mister K provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures, alternate characters, case-sensitive forms, fractions, super- and subscript character, and stylistic alternates.

The font has received numerous awards including the ISTD Premier Award from the International Society of Typographic Designers, and a Certificate of Excellence in Typeface Design from the TDC in 2012.
